Santa Teresa Gateway Rail Park

We are the Gateway to International Trade
with rail access to the four corners of the United States.

The Santa Teresa Gateway Rail Park (STGRP) is a 1,300-acre master planned industrial development with direct access to low-cost, rail-served land. The STGRP is the only commerce center connected to Union Pacific’s Intermodal Complex at Santa Teresa. The UP Complex sites on nearly 2,200 acres spanning 4 miles with 74,000 feet of track with exponential expansion capabilities. The STGRP also sits within a 12-mile overweight zone with Mexico, allowing trucks entering from or into Mexico to carry up to 96,000 pounds of cargo instead of the standard 80,000 pounds seen elsewhere in the United States. The STGRP is also part of the Bi-National Community Master Plan encompassing 70,000 acres and was prepared by regional landowners and endorsed by the governors of New Mexico and Mexico.

Ironhorse Resources is the short-line rail provider within the industrial park and has excellent service. Ironhorse is a family-owned company based out of O’Fallon, IL that own and operates eight short lines in the US with three of those on the US/Mexico Border. At the rail park, they have three locomotives on site and 14 miles of track to serve their clients. The park connects to one of the largest Union Pacific intermodal facilities in the United States giving convenient access to the major seaports of Houston and Long Beach. Union Pacific also provides excellent service in the region with an average service of five days a week at the Santa Tersa Intermodal Facility but will deliver and/or pick up rail cars during the weekends if required.
