In an exciting development for the Borderplex job market, approximately 50 new engineering positions are set to become available in the near future.

PROD Design & Analysis, an engineering solutions company based in El Paso, made this significant announcement during a press conference, attended by city officials and representatives from UTEP’s Aerospace Center.

Rod Design Analysis Expands to the BorderplexPablo Rodriguez, the proprietor of PROD Design & Analysis, shared on Tuesday that this collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the company’s expansion within the region.

“We are focusing on the cutting-edge realm of U.S. manufacturing, which involves high-tech elements like robotics and technical engineering positions,” explained Rodriguez.

The expansion project, totaling $4.4 million, will be undertaken at PROD’s Eastside headquarters and includes performance-based incentives of approximately $189,000 from the city.

As part of this expansion endeavor, PROD will be adding an extra 30,000 square feet to its existing facility. The new positions are expected to offer a median hourly wage of approximately $27.

Having been established in 2004, PROD Design & Analysis currently employs approximately 115 individuals.

Ahsan Choudhuri, the Associate Vice President of UTEP’s Aerospace Center, emphasized that PROD’s expansion aligns with El Paso’s 2030 objective of having 25% of jobs within advanced technologies.

“This is our strategy for nurturing an economy resilient to disruptions and committed to sustained prosperity,” Choudhuri noted.

Elizabeth Triggs, Director of Economic Development for the city, highlighted that the initial connection between the city and PROD was facilitated through UTEP.

“With this expansion, PROD is poised to take on more projects and customers, which, in turn, offers opportunities for local manufacturing companies to become part of the supply chain,” Triggs affirmed.
