Flagstone Foods, a leading producer of both private-label and in-house nut, dried fruit, and snack brands, has unveiled ambitious plans to significantly enhance its production capacity in the Borderplex. The initiative encompasses an investment of approximately $28 million in capital and the establishment of a minimum of 91 new full-time positions.
Flagstone Foods boasts a century-long legacy in the industry, catering to esteemed clients and major retail chains with private-label products and its own brand portfolio, featuring premium nuts, dried fruits, and snack items. The company recently embarked on a new growth phase by acquiring the “Emerald Nuts” snack brand from the Campbell Soup Company earlier this year. Their $28 million investment will encompass various aspects, including construction, infrastructure enhancements, and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, including the installation of four new manufacturing lines.
Judge Ricardo A. Samaniego remarked, “These businesses have recognized that in our county, they not only tap into a welcoming and diverse consumer base but also find an environment conducive to innovation and expansion.”
Flagstone Foods’ CEO, Harry Overly, expressed excitement about the expansion in El Paso and conveyed gratitude for the strong support received from The Borderplex Alliance and local government officials. Overly stated, “This exciting project will introduce new manufacturing equipment to our facility, bolstering our capacity to bring our ‘best in class’ healthy snacks to new customers across the nation. El Paso’s community is an ideal fit for our expansion plans, thanks to its skilled workforce and business-friendly atmosphere. We eagerly anticipate hiring talented individuals from the region for the newly created positions while investing millions of dollars into our facility.”
Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance, commended Flagstone Foods for selecting the Borderplex region for its expansion and for embracing local talent. Barela noted, “This upgraded facility further underscores our region’s status as a manufacturing hub, attracting globally successful enterprises.”
